Former KGB Agent Yuri Bezmenov
I don’t believe I’ve ever posted a full-length video, much less one of a former KGB officer, who after many years of “service” to the Soviet Union defected to the United States. I do so now to offer a possible explanation for what’s happening on college campuses. In brief, what you’ll learn if you take the time to watch, even a little of the video, is that the Soviet Union had long been engaged in something they called “cultural subversion.” Russia, as most of us are aware, is still engaged in it; as is China. The United States is no doubt involved in it as well.
Our beloved Hollywood spy movies tended to present subversion as if it were cloak and dagger stuff: stealing state secrets, blowing up bridges, copying designs of the latest fighter jets. Subversion in this context is different. It is a means of mind control, a method of introducing ideas into a populace that degrades cohesion, sows instability, and in its final stages, tears at our nation’s most powerful — and yet most vulnerable spot: our living, breathing, and fragile democracy.
From the outset, and just to forestall any feeling you may have that I am a believer in conspiracies, I am not. I do, however, believe that “nations” (as opposed to groups of individuals) will use whatever means are at their disposal to weaken their enemies. I mention this because in the recent past, when I’ve told friends and family members about the contents of this video and other media like it, most were roundly dismissive. As it often happens in such cases, none of them had taken the time to watch or read what I had shared. Today however, I’ve found that there is much greater receptivity. People are looking for answers with a fervency that I can’t recall. The questions are flying: What the hell is going on? What’s happening in this country? What is true, what’s real anymore? Is everyone nuts? Unfortunately, the answer is: Yes. Many people have gone nuts.

The subject of the video is former KGB Agent Yuri Bezmenov. I learned of Bezmenov through a friend of mine, a four-star retired general, who over several years, and with wisdom —and not a little prescience —laid out for me the foundations of what we’re seeing. It’s important to point out that whenever societies are in a state of disruption, as they are today, Jew-hatred will come roaring of the closet. There are many reasons posited for this, but none are capable of explaining anything of substance. Jew-hatred is what happens when the world becomes corrupted past a certain threshold.
A little background on Yuri Bezmenov. (Sourced from Wikipedia)
Bezmenov was born December 11, 1939 – January 5, 1993; alias: Tomas David Schuman was a Soviet journalist for Novosti Press Agency (APN). In 1970, as a member of the KGB Soviet mission in New Delhi, India, Bezmenov defected to the West and was re-settled in Canada pursuant to an arrangement between American and Canadian security agencies. After being assigned to a station in India, Bezmenov eventually grew to love the people and the culture of India. At the same time, he began to resent the KGB-sanctioned repression of Soviet dissidents and other intellectuals who dissented from Moscow's policies, and he decided to defect to the West. Bezmenov is best remembered for his anti-Marxist, anti-Soviet, and anti-atheist lectures and books published in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
There are those in academia who believe Bezmenov was little more than a right-wing shill. Anything is possible. I know that. But if you’re truly interested in the roots of what’s happening on campuses across our country and the world, it may behoove you to decide for yourself.
As always—with blessings for health, joy, and true peace,
Peter
Soviet tour poster from 1988
(Just a note for anyone who stills harbors a bit of warmth toward communism: I spent two months in the Soviet Union on a rock and roll tour in late 1988. The Russian people were wonderful. But I also knew that with my native disdain for insipid ideologies, my rebellious nature, and highly spiritual mindset, I would likely have found myself languishing in prison, were I born into such a corrupt system.)
Your writing style and, of course, substance are inspiring. As a history enthusiast I find it all interesting and terrifying.
Wow! "a method of introducing ideas into a populace that degrades cohesion, sows instability, and in its final stages, tears at our nation’s most powerful — and yet most vulnerable spot: our living, breathing, and fragile democracy." Just this alone, should be enough to wake people up to what is going on.
